MUSIC MAN PICS - UNOPENED - FROM 1977 -Tom Walker
FOR SALE
Original Music Man Picks – Unopened (1977)
Offered here is a rare and historically significant twin set of original Music Man guitar picks, dating from 1977 and remaining in their original, unopened condition.
Our store, The Music Factory, was appointed as the first authorised Music Man dealer in Brisbane, Australia, in early 1977.
These picks were personally presented to us by Tom Walker, during his visit to Australia for the Melbourne Music Trade Show in late 1977.
Having been carefully stored for decades, they were only recently rediscovered at the back of a filing cabinet, where they had remained untouched and preserved.
A unique collector’s item with direct provenance and historical connection to the early days of Music Man.
“Touched by Tom Walker.”

My connection to Leo Fender and Tom Walker.
My good Friend Own Ray, from Toowoomba, Queensland Australia, was also at the Music Show in Melbourne and given the same Pics from Tom Walker , in 1977. His guitar pics have disappeared over time by as confirmed in my ad, I still have mine. Owen was also a personal friend of Leo Fender and his wife Phyllis Fender. Owen was also the longest serving Fender Dealer in Australia. You can see the connection to Music Man in the photos below and also G & L. Phyllis Fender also gifted Leo Fenders G & L Badge from Leos black sports coat to Own Ray , as you can see in the photos. This was after Leo's passing. Owe and his son were also the last to be photographed with Leo Fender ( Using Owens Camera) in Leos workshop at the G & L Factory 2 months before Leo's passing.

Hi, thanks for sharing this…
Hi, thanks for sharing this listing.
The picks look great and the story behind them is genuinely interesting. I'd love to see a bit more supporting documentation for the provenance: anything from 1977 that ties the item to The Music Factory or to Tom Walker's visit, such as a dealer appointment letter, an invoice, a trade show program, or even a photo from that period. I completely understand if those records no longer exist after nearly 50 years, but it would help justify the purchase with confidence.
