Music Man 212 HD150

I have a mint 1984 Music Man 212 HD150 combo which I run through a Marshall AVT 412 cabinet. This setup gives me 150 watts of bone-crushing crunch through 6 12"'s! My 1970 Ampeg Dan Armstong "See Through" and my Fender '72 Telecaster Custom Reissue simply ROAR through this rig! My style is in the vein of Keith Richards/Rich Robinson, so this setup REALLY works amazingly well for me. Music Man amps are awesome! As Clapton said in his 1976 Guitar Player cover story "they (the Music Man amps) could have been used in Cream. You can go all the way from a Marshall stack to a little Fender Champ with them". EC was right on the money there! Awesome!

My 212 HD150 (with Phas0r) is also sweet. This website is great too! Finally, a resource for my amp, which has been a bit of a mystery, specifically the input jacks. I can't wait to get home and do some experimenting with them.
My MM combo is in excellent condition, so I think I'll post pic here later. I really have no complaints, just a wish list: effects loop and channel switching. I'll just have to get creative with an A/B box huh?
I use a 12AX7 overdrive pedal (Ibanez Tube King) for distortion and it drives the amp very nicely.
For now, I use this amp at home (bedroom guitarist) and the master volume really can't go past 3 without breaking windows. It's really dang loud! I'm planning to sell my house later this year, and the guitar gear is the last stuff to get packed. Why? Because it will be payback time for my irritating neighbors.
Anyway, it's good to see other MM owners out there.

I have a 1974 65 Reverb head which I got off of e-bay for $150 this year. Had it recapped/retubed and use it to power a Motion Sound SR-112 Leslie cab with a retrofitted JBL e-120. Awesome! I also have a 1980 210-75 in my rig. These things are so clean and pedal friendly,I love em!!!

Using a small vintage fender, I always wound up turning the amp off and going acoustic. The HD 150 makes me smirk, and turn it up. The wood begins to vibrate in synch with the solid walls of sound, and if you live next door and don't like it, move to another block.

I know these posts are several years old but I am new to this forum However I am NOT new to these amps, especially the 212HD 150.
I bought mine brand new with factory installed EV Force 12 speakers, then switched those out to Altecs years later, then about 2 years after the last post on this thread turned the cab into a head and placed it on a 4-12 Peavey Bass cab filled with 4 vintage Altec 12"s.
This rig is used for my clean channel. All my guitars are wired "true stereo" or come that way like my custom made BC Rich Seagull or my modified Parker Fly Deluxe.
