I just picked up a very clean 410 HD 130 for $850. I'm curious if that was a good buy. Works great! I'm curious about the age. From what I understand I have to pull the chassis to date it? Is that correct???
First thing-does it have the 12ax7z phase inverter? If so, it's early, like between 74 and maybe 77 or 78 (don't remember).. If no inverter, after that and maybe before 80 or so. Also don't remember when they changed. Damn, I'm old! Mike.
If it has the 12ax7a PI tube, there will be a 5th tube, smaller than the el34's and inside a metal shield. It will be to the left (as viewed from the back) and almost behind the transformers.

It has 4 E 34 L Tubes
