I have found a music man 115HD-130 but the 1x15 has been replased by 2 jensen 10's. Still have the 15" speaker... should I replace the 2x10's or should I build a extecion cab with the 15". I don't have much experience in 15" speakers fo guitar??? |

Well, I HAD to use a 1-15 cab with my 2-10 to get any bass response. My 15 was a jbl so it's rather hard to be subjective but I like 15" with a solid body guitar like a strat but they're a little much with my heritage 535 due to the vibrations and feedback. Kind of depends on what you play and how loud. I will be using my 2-10 with the 15" cab extension this weekend because the place we are working is too big of a pain in the a$$ to get the twin in. I imagine the MM is a LOT cleaner than the marshall since they're designed to be high gain front end amps and ARE a pain in the a$$ to carry around a 4x12. The usual front end loading of pedals into a MM amp USUALLY is a good sound as long as you rely on the pedals for you "grit". I enjoy mine when I get a chance to use it-unffortunately, we're so damned loud sometimes that I need the thump of my twin to keep up. My 2-10 starts breaking up around 4 so I have to start working on cleaning up the front end. My gawd, the cycle never ends! |
