The guy who reconed my speakers and I put them in yesterday. They measure about 7ohms each and are wired for 4ohms together. all good. But when plugged in to the amp the pair only read 0.8 ohms. Neither he nor I could work it out. I have played the amp for a few hours and run it at "10". Works fine. Anyone know anything about this?

You mean you tried to measure the RESISTANCE with the speakers hooked up to the amp? It will, of course, read low because you now have the output transformer in parallel with the two speakers. The RESISTANCE should be measured withthe two speakers hooked together but UNHOOKED from the amp. This should give you around 3-3.2 ohm. The IMPEDANCE is a combination of many factors including the resistance.
