Mike, you don't hear from me much because I'm more of a player than a repairman but I'm a big fan of this site and check it almost every day. Whenever I have a tidbit of info, I do contribute. I just want you to know I'm one of many that appreciate that you and a few others keep it going. Many thanks. |

I may have more questions after I get the filter supplies rebuilt on my 100RD. I thank all who posted over the years, as I have been gaining knowledge from them. |

Back in the late 70's all I knew was my MM amp was made by Fender and was holding it's own with everybody I was jamming with. After jam conversation/questions regarding my amp didn't help much. |

This is good.. I'm just glad there IS an outlet to discuss this stuff. I know they haven't been made in umpteen years but they ARE cool. Think I'm actually going to drag my 2-10 to the job tommorrow and play it just for grins. It hasn't been out of the house lately-it deserves a trip out. Mike. |

Cool.. I've got a little thing going on here at the house tonight with a couple of old friends. I'll usually just go with my practice amp, but I think I'll do the same and light up the 2/12. |

I'm fairly new here. This is an excellent site for all us Music Man addicts. With so little documentation out there about these amps, whatever little knowledge I have I promise to share. Thank you so much for this outlet! |

DID use the 2-10 for the job sat night. Went fine but it reminded me that I need to fix it. It breaks up SOOOOO soon. Like at 3. Just going to have to actually work on my own stuff for a change I guess. Don't know if it's in the front end or what. HATE working on my own stuff! Mike. |

Mike, have you played with some of the newer Hi-Fi op-amps, like the OPA2134A in MM amps. The steel guitar players have been swaping them into their SS amps for more clean headroom. I put a set in a Peavey Bandit, and it really lowered the noise floor, and seems less harsh. I changed the 4558 in the reverb driver with one also, but it seemed to lower the gain. |

Haven't tried them but I don't know if I REALLY amd going to do much or not. I have the MM for fun and don't really play it out much any more. It's just kind of retired. I have so many other things to play through that it's really not needed right now. I like it in the music room to record with and it works great there. I don't know,,,,, I SHOULD work on it I guess. Mike. |

Oh and the LM307h's are can type so I'd have to wire up sockets and rig that. Like I said, I don't know. |

Played through the 2/12 last Saturday for that little get together I posted about. It's been months since I've played her, and using the 2/12 again reminded me of tunes I haven't done in years. |

Little delay here(hey-I'm old!) but it IS amazing how equipment changes your urge to play and WHAT you play. My main "OUT" guitar is my heritage 535 but depending on where we play(some are pretty crappy) I play a helicaster that I pieced together out of junk I had and threw together. It really more of an SG with a bolt on neck since it has gibson humbuck and wired with a single tone and volume. That's my bar guitar. I play TOTALLY different with the heritage than I do with scattercaster. Neck is wider, more comfortable, and I actually THINK different with that guitar. Likewise, when I dig out the les paul(which isn't often-too damned heavy!) I play a little different again. More slurs and noise. Guess it's just how the brain works-or doesn't! Mike. |

I'm a long way from being a guitar player, but I've had one for years, mainly to beat on while I sing. Been playing pedal steel for a while now, and a year or so back I got a lap steel, and tuned it E9. |

No matter HOW you play, that qualifies. I do a single, a duo, and have my band which is "Hands Off". No matter WHAT you do, it's music. I just wish there was more BAND work. It's getting hard for old farts like me to go out and play classic rock and the like. We do a great variety of music but todays drunks are really leaning towards the grunge head banging sloppy crap that has almost NO musical content. Yeah, I'm prejudiced but this crap is just that. If you can't play anything other than wacka wacka on everything INLUDING the bass line, GO HOME! Now we wil return to our regularly scheduled program. Mike. |

There has been some work on the side to POSSIBLY update the format of the site but it has kind of hit a slow spot. I personally LIKE the format the way it is but hey, I'm just the messenger! The problems with changing formats is that they cost money and this site has existed for a long time the way it is because of the generosity of Steve. It's his baby. Like I said, I actually like it this way. I write web pages from scratch and believe me, it can take a lot of time and work. I am so sick of yuku forums, Vbulletin and a few others that I could puke. Anyway, I would LOVE to see a pic of a MM lighter. Never ever HEARD of them. |

Good point Mike - there's me thinking "oh it'll be relatively easy to change over" but that doesn't take into account the fact that I know nothing about it...... and of course when you mentioned a cost then that makes it even more difficult. |
