Hey, Im the proud owner of a Musicman 212 65 combo, and my question is this. should the impedence speaker switch point to 4 or 8 ohm, there are no ekstra cabinets connected.
thanks in} advance
Kenneth, from Denmark

If it is a 212 with 8 ohm speakers you should be on 4 OHM . http://www.abrown.com/spkrwire.htm

Hi, I've also have a Music Man 2/12 65 combo with the 12AX7 tube. How can I find out what the speaker ohm's are, so I know where the impedance switch should set? Help, I'm only a guitar player.
Thank you, Dave

The back of the soeakers should be marked , but if they are not, you will need to use an ohm meter to get a resistance reading and then approximate the impedance. An 8ohm impedance speaker will give you about 5.5-6 ohms of resistance although I've seen them as high as 7. A 4 ohm will give you about a 2.33-2.6 ohms of resistance. In other words, resistance is only a small part of true impedance. The two 8 ohm speakers in parallel will give you a 4 ohm load so you set your switch accordingly. By the way, you would have to disconnect one of the speakers to check resistance of the single speaker or you will be reading both in the circuit. Mike.
