Anybody have any clues on how to get MORE bass response out of this amp? It sounds great but I really need more bass response. I realise you can only get so much bass out of 10's, but it does sound a little mid range oriented. New tubes, speakers, biased right on 14mA(they'll eat themselves much higher-I know), just still could use some bass added. Mike Kaus |

You might experiment with changing the series coupling caps on the first two input op-amp stages (C1 & C6) from .1uF to a larger value (start with 1uF and go up in value to increase the amount of low frequency energy in your signal until you get what you want). |

Thanks Steve, I'll try that first. Love the 65 since my main amp was a JBL Twin! This I can carry. Re-capped it, Weber Ca10's and a fan put in the back to cool the new JJ's and it should last ANOTHER 20 yrs or so. Mike. |

There's an itch toward a Twin, but maybe I can change some components with my MM210-65 w/PI and make it sound close to it. Its been recapped by Terry and have the Mullards in. Speakers are stock. I think some people have called this thier "mini-twin". I say components and not have to deal with soldering so it can be brought back to stock. Or as stock it sounds like a twin?? |
