Has it all been answered?

I wonder if we have reached the top of the mountain,the highest we can go,answered every question ever thought of about a musicman amp?I am started to wonder if this is so,there has been little if no action in these streets,no parades ,no hoopla,no thats a great idea,or thank you you are a life saver ,how do you feel?

There are always questions. Sometimes, just no answers. I don't use my MM as much as I used to because it's a heavy little ba%^*$d. I usually use something else but the MM is ALWAYS in my music room and I use it for recording and practice. I ACTUALLY plug it into a JBL 15" and use it to record bass stuff too. It serves two masters. Also use it for keyboard parts to mic instead of recording direct sometimes.

I've been meaning to make a general report for some time but had forgotten my password until a few moments ago when I typed in a few of my favorites and one of them worked.
My 410HD (with PI tube) has been working perfectly for quite a while now. Last summer on real hot stagnant day all four power tubes went orange as a Halloween pumpkin. I reacted quickly enough to avoid damage. My amp doctor could find nothing out of line so he suggested trying a fan. The top of my amp used to get uncomfortably hot to the touch but with the fan I can barely detect any warmth at all. It's a 2 speed very quite plastic 7 inch fan with a big plastic clip which I attach to the side wall. The swiveling head blows straight up on the tubes.
I did buy a smaller amp that I can carry with one hand for the smaller rooms I play in. There was one little paragraph in the "The Soul of Tone" about the Fender Champ 25 hybrid that intriqued me(same basic concept as MM with solid state pre, 12Ax7 PI and two power tubes). I read up about it and found a nice one nearby. It sounds beautiful on it's own at home but I tried it on a gig (classic rock / country flavor with occasional BD-2 distortion, 335) and was uncomfortable with it all night. Although warm, the tone just wasn't as focused so I'm back to using the 410 for everything. I need to experiment a little more though before I give up on the Champ.
So maybe everyone is just cruising along at the moment enjoying the music through their reliable MM amps. The fragile element in my life right now is my fingers. I've become "painfully" aware that I better treat them right if I want another 10 to 20 years of guitar service out of them. The amp I'm not so worried about.

I do agree with Mike,there have been people who have amps doing really crazy bad things and they could not get the prob to quit,but I think more have found a fix to any prob they encountered,I guess I should be amazed there are as many involved with this site as there are.These amps are what 27 years old at their youngest?Many of these amps we have to assume have died and are long gone ,some are in hiding,some are laying around rusting and the rest are us(the guys still using them).
