Next crazy question, Is there anyway to add a 1/2 power mod to these amps? |

Are you thinking along the lines of the higher powered MM amps that had the HI/LOW power switching? |

I ordered a VVR kit from Hall Amplification today, it regulates the screen grid voltages. I am going to try it on an RD-50 that I am working on. I will post the results when its installed and dialed in. The theory is that lowering screen grid volatges will lower output tube power, "Power scailing". The issue I see is that the cathodes are transistor driven, and pin 5 is the bias grid, so they will be left alone in this experiment. The area that I will attempt will be the screen grids. I am hoping for the best, Dana has some very good prices for his completed VRR boards, and they are relatively simple to install. www.hallamplification.com |
